Workplace health
Investing in health promoting workplaces makes good business sense and is good for the economy. 'Good' jobs provide an income, social contact, a role, and a purpose in life. However, not all jobs are good for health. Modern day workplaces present a range of challenges, particularly to mental health and wellbeing. The digitalisation of workplaces has contributed to an 'always available' culture, and the growing 'gig' economy is not conducive to secure, regular, or sufficient hours. Employers have a responsibility to help make workplaces healthier, happier places, and many are already making efforts to do so.
Could your workforce benefit from more health promoting support?
Working adults spend on average one-third of their waking hours at work, making the workplace a powerful influence on health and wellbeing.
The economic cost of ill health on the UK’s economy is estimated at £100 billion each year. Evidence shows that healthy employees drive a healthy business, therefore a proactive approach to the health and wellbeing of employees within the workplace, or working from home, is key to a happier, healthier, engaged, and more productive workforce.
